About this site

This website is intended to help learners and teachers of English to make full use of the Bangkok Post, both as a resource for language development and for a better understanding our modern world. Learners of all ages are welcome, from five to 105.

At the moment, most of our lesson material deals with very current issues of the Bangkok Post. Each weekday morning, we normally cover one to three stories from various sections of the latest issue of paper. We give learners guidelines for reading stories, lots of vocabulary and sometimes we provide exercises and activities as well. In addition, we also provide sound files for the stories in the popular mp3 format, so learners can listen as well as read.

Our intention is to add several more sections to the site. For the most part, the sections you see now will be open to anyone. Other sections – our so-called “premium content” - will probably be restricted to Bangkok Post subscribers and teachers who use the Bangkok Post regularly with their classes. This will include a huge store of lessons for reading practice, vocabulary archives, and a wide-variety of on-line courses on different aspects of newspaper reading.
