Southern Minnesota without agriculture:
What would it be like?
I grew up in southern Minnesota and much of the
land surrounding my home town of Northfield is agricultural land,
especially corn and soybean fields. But what would the land be like if
there were no agriculture? What would it be like if the land was left
in its natural condition?Would it be forest land?
Would it be prairie land? (land covered with grass and wild flowers, but no trees)
Would it be desert land?
Look at the video and answer the question. The video show a piece of land that St Olaf College in Northfield has left to grow naturally for many years. It gives us a good idea of what the land used to look like before farmers began growing their crops.
